My Story
Nicole’s path into the world of perinatal health and wellness began in her heart long before it officially started. When she first became a mother in 2010 a seed was planted that would eventually lead her to pivoting from her successful career education to working with families during the perinatal period. This seed took root in 2019 and has since blossomed into a lifelong commitment to this work.
Nicole earned a BS in Family Studies and an MPH in Health Behavior, and later an MAEd in Early Childhood Special education. Her eclectic professional background has endowed her with an invaluable breadth of skills and knowledge. From classroom teaching, childcare administration, early intervention, leading parenting education programs, to now providing clinical lactation support as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and helping families navigate the complexities of the postpartum period as a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) postpartum doula, she feels honored to be in the position to have come alongside hundreds of families in their journey’s.
In addition to her diverse professional background, Nicole also brings to her work deeply personal experiences that have endowed her with unique insights and deep empathy, allowing her to connect with clients on a meaningful and authentic level. In 2021, Nicole experienced an unexpected and profound loss when her second child, who was 5 weeks old at the time, died. Nicole then went on to become trained in grief and loss and has since held precious space as a child loss/grief support group facilitator. After experiencing firsthand, the lack of safe spaces for the bereaved she vowed to become one. She understands the importance of creating a safe space where others can openly share their stories, express their emotions, and navigate their journeys without judgment.
She employs a holistic approach to wellness, recognizing the interconnectedness of emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical health. In addition to the aforementioned trainings, she is a trained childbirth educator, has been trained in neuro-affective touch and somatic healing, trained in Birth Story Medicine®, womb healing, mother wound work, and Field Facilitation®. She also recently began organizing womens wellness retreats, inspired by her own healing journey and the special place she holds in her heart for women gathering.
Outside of her professional life, Nicole is a mother to her living son, now 14 and is also parenting her two bonus sons; also teens, with her husband. She lives in Florida and enjoys dancing, cooking, leading womens circles, and attending retreats.
