About Me
I’m a trauma-informed holistic mental health practitioner and transformational coach with a deep passion for neuroscience and innovative approaches to mental wellness.
My journey in mental health began with a strong foundation in journalism. I spent more than 30 years covering health-related stories, which gave me a unique window into the human experience and helped shape my mission to make mental health and emotional well-being engaging, accessible, and less intimidating.
My expertise spans several areas of certification, including Hypnotherapy, Integrative Nutrition, and Havening Techniques®. Havening is a neuroscience-based method that uses touch and positive thought to help rewire the brain, and it has become one of my specialties. I’m among the first 150 Havening Practitioners in the United States and one of only 1,000 worldwide. I also had the opportunity to study directly with the co-developers of Havening, who recognized me as “The Pioneer Practitioner” for my commitment, public presence, and innovative contributions to the field.
Beyond my certifications, I’m an international speaker and health/wellness TV guest expert. I’ve traveled the world sharing knowledge on secondary traumatic stress and holistic healing. My work as a veteran journalist included hosting health shows for CVSHealth/Aetna and creating Connecticut’s first LGBTQIA+ TV program, which focused on transgender medicine and human rights within the healthcare system. These experiences deepened my understanding of the diverse needs within mental health care.
I’m also the host of the globally top-rated podcast, HIListically Speaking®, where I lead conversations about trauma recovery, health, healing, and humor. My signature HUG it Out® Method helps individuals explore self-healing through humor, understanding, and gratitude, with the goal of cultivating more clarity, confidence, and calm.
At Dahlia Center, I help expand our holistic mental health services by integrating my knowledge of neuroscience and therapeutic techniques to support clients on their healing journeys. I facilitate our Holistic Mental Wellness Classes, offering a space for participants to explore transformative self-healing practices and build emotional resilience.
Originally from New York, I’m an avid traveler who loves adventure and the outdoors. My love of animals, theatre, and writing poetry adds depth to the way I approach life and wellness. I’m also currently working on publishing two books designed to offer actionable steps and stories that support emotional well-being for both adults and children.
