INTEGRATIVE PSYCHIATRIC SPECIALIST

About Me

I’m a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in reproductive and perinatal mental health.

My journey into healthcare is both personal and purposeful. After experiencing significant medical challenges in childhood that required frequent hospitalizations, I developed a deep appreciation for compassionate, patient-centered care. That experience ultimately inspired my career path.

I began by earning both a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, where I discovered my passion for women’s and neonatal care. From there, I worked in a high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), caring for critically ill infants before pursuing advanced practice nursing to broaden my impact.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing and began practicing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in a busy OB/GYN setting, providing comprehensive care across the lifespan. I later completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and led a quality improvement project focused on standardizing care for patients pursuing vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). That work was published in a leading women’s health nursing journal.

Through my clinical experience, I recognized a critical gap in women’s mental health care, particularly during the perinatal period. That led me to return to school to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in reproductive and perinatal mental health.

I provide evidence-based, compassionate care and draw on my background in NICU and women’s health to offer comprehensive, patient-centered mental healthcare. My clinical interests include perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, PMS/PMDD, preconception counseling, menopause transition, and LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergence-affirming care.

In addition to clinical practice, I serve as an adjunct nursing instructor, educating future nurses in women’s health.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and busy toddler, and I find joy in Pilates, baking, and tackling DIY home projects.
